The Dog Begging Bacon Flavored Doggie Delight

Bacon Flavored Doggie Delight is a homemade dog food recipe that will have your puppy begging for more. There is not a dog alive that will turn down a delicious bacon meal, especially one that is full of fresh ingredients.

Your dog's diet should consist of about one third protein and the rest in grains and vegetables. It is a myth that dogs are strictly carnivores and should have more protein than anything in their diets.

In fact, the reason vets tell you to not allow your dog to eat cat food is because cats need more protein in their diet and the extra can harm your dog's kidneys. Therefore, when you are making your dog food recipe, you need to be sure to not add more meat or protein source than recommended.

Ingredients:

The Bacon Flavored Doggie Delight is very easy to make. You will need the following ingredients to prepare this meal:

• Two beaten eggs
• 1 cup milk or non-dairy milk substitute
• 1/2 cup of water
• 1 teaspoon salt
• Ten tablespoons of melted bacon fat
• Five cups whole wheat flour

Method:

When you are getting ready to prepare your Bacon Flavored Doggie Delight you will want to preheat your oven first to 350 degrees. This will ensure that it is ready when you are to begin baking. To make this dog food recipe you will want to do the following:

1. Lightly grease a baking sheet with a nonstick spray

2. Beat two eggs in a large bowl

3. Mix in milk, water, and salt – stir well

4. Add bacon fat to the liquid and mix thoroughly

5. Add the whole wheat flour to the bowl gradually

6. Mix until there is a stiff dough

7. Roll pieces of the dough into 2 inch balls

8. Place balls on baking sheet

9. Bake for 35-40 minutes

10. Cool on cookie rack

11. Serve alone or with kibble

12. Refrigerate left overs in baggie or container

Once you have cooked and cooled your Bacon Flavored Doggie Delight, you will want to store them. Refrigerated portions can be stored in bags or containers and used in four days or less.

If you have more than four days worth of food, you will want to freeze the extra portions to make sure they stay fresh.

Make sure to use freezer safe bags and containers. Using anything else may leave the Bacon Flavored Doggie Delight food with freezer burn and then it will need to be discarded.
