Spoiling Your Dog with Beef Puppy Cakes

Beef Puppy Cakes are a great way to spoil your dog. There are several reasons to make your own dog food and treats. The most common reason is that when dog food is made from scratch, there are not artificial ingredients in it. Another reason is that food is always fresh, which makes it taste better for your puppy.

Homemade dog food is the best way to ensure that you know exactly what is in your dog’s food at all times. Cooking for your dog at home is very easy and does not take much time at all. You can make as much dog food as you need for as long as you choose. As long as you store the dog food correctly, you will be able to make up to a six month batch.

Ingredients:

To make Beef Puppy Cakes for your dog you will need to have the following ingredients. You can scale up or down to fit your needs as well.

• Six pounds of ground beef (the less fat, the better)
• Eight eggs
• One and a half cups of brown or whole grain rice
• One and a half cups of rolled oats
• Two large grated potatoes
• Four large grated carrots
• Two large chopped celery stalks
• A dash of salt
• One forth cup of olive oil

Method:

You will want enough muffin tins to make 36 large muffins. To stop the muffins from sticking, use a non-stick cooking spray to grease the tins. You will also need a medium sauce pot and a large bowl for mixing. To make your Beef Puppy Cakes you will want to do the following:

1. Preheat oven to 200C (400F) or Gas Mark 6

2. Grease muffin tins

3. Combine rice and water in medium sauce pot

4. Boil on high heat uncovered

5. Cook for 10 minutes and reduce heat

6. Cover and allow to simmer for 20 minutes

7. Fluff with fork and set aside to cool

8. Combine carrots, celery, potatoes, raw ground beef, and raw eggs into a large bowl.

9. Mix together thoroughly with hands or hardy spoon

10. Add salt, olive oil, rolled oats, and cooled rice into large bowl

11. Mix together well with hands

12. Fill each muffin cup with mixture and firmly pack

13. Bake for 45 minutes

14. Cool muffin pans for at least 10 minutes

15. Remove each cake from tin by holding upside down and tapping bottom of tin

16. Refrigerate or freeze cakes

17. Do not serve hot

You can mix your Beef Puppy Cakes with some dried dog food or feed alone. Make sure to only refrigerate enough cakes for four days of food. All the rest need to be frozen to keep them fresh. When you are running low, simply place the frozen cakes into the refrigerator to thaw.
