Beefy Diabetic Doggy Cookies for Your
Dog
Beefy Diabetic Doggy
Cookies are the best treat for your dog. Even a dog with
diabetes deserves treats. Homemade dog cookies offer you a way to know exactly what you are putting into your
dog’s body to keep him health and make sure his sugars stay stable.
Diabetic dogs have special diets and needs, so making food and
treats at home allow you to monitor what works for your dog the best. One of the best benefits of this dog treat is
that it also promotes healthy teeth. While this is important for all dogs, it is even more important for dogs with
diabetes that are more prone to tooth decay and loss.
Ingredients:
To make your puppy Beefy Diabetic Doggy
Cookies you will need the following ingredients:
• One and a half pounds of beef liver
• Two eggs
• Half cup of whole wheat flour
Method:
You do not need to add any vegetables to this mix. Diabetic dogs
get exactly enough vegetables and carbohydrates from their special dog food. Adding more can make their sugars
unstable.
To make your Beefy Diabetic Doggy Cookies, you will need a 10 by 15
inch jelly roll, parchment paper, and a food processor. Follow the directions to make the best cookies for your
puppy:
1. Preheat oven to 180C (350F) or Gas Mark 4
2. Line jelly roll pan with parchment paper
3. Put liver into processor
4. Pulse until finely chopped
5. Add eggs and flour into processor
6. Process until smooth
7. Spread mixture into jelly roll pan
8. Bake for 15 minutes until center is firm
9. Cool in roll
10. Cut into squares
11. Serve or store
If you do not have enough room in your processor for the other
ingredients, transfer them into a bowl and stir until they are smooth with a wooden spoon. Your Beefy Diabetic
Doggy Cookies will have a spongy consistency. Store no more than four days worth of dog treats in the refrigerator
in an air tight container or bag.
If you have more than four days worth, store in freezer safe bags
or containers and thaw in the refrigerator as needed. These can keep in a freezer for up to six months. You can
make as little of many treats that you want. All you have to do is scale the recipe up or down to fit your needs.
Smaller batches mean no need to freeze the Beefy Diabetic Doggy
Cookies, while larger batches mean you do not have to cook as
often.
