Perfect Nutrition with Chunky Puppy Gravy

Chunky Puppy Gravy is a great way to spice up your dog’s food. It will also allow you to add the good proteins and other nutrients into your dog’s diet that he or she could be lacking. Whether you buy your dog’s kibble at the store or you make it on your own, this gravy will be a huge hit and will ensure that your dog enjoys his or her meal till the last bite.

When you are making the Chunky Puppy Gravy, you will want to choose what type of meat you want. You can mix it up to change flavors for your dog whenever you like. Just be sure to stay consistent. If you choose chicken, then use chicken broth as well.

Ingredients:

You will want to use the following ingredients when preparing Chunky Puppy Gravy:

• 6 oz of chicken, beef, turkey, or vegetable broth
• 8 oz of lean chicken, beef, liver, turkey, or other favorite meat
• One cup of flour
• One bag of frozen vegetables or 16 oz of fresh vegetables (carrots, peas, green beans, broccoli, etc)

Method:

Once it is time to make your Chunky Puppy Gravy, you will want to be sure that you have a large pot. If you are using fresh vegetables, then you will want to have a medium sauce pan on hand as well. The following directions will help you make your doggy gravy:

1. Pour broth into large pot

2. Cut up meat into small pieces

3. If using fresh vegetables, chop into small pieces

4. Add meat to broth

5. Put fresh vegetables into medium sauce pan with water

6. Bring vegetables to a boil

7. Bring meat to a boil

8. Drain fresh or frozen vegetables

9. Add vegetables to the meat and broth

10. Allow to simmer until cooked through

11. Cool and serve over dry dog food

You will need to store your Chunky Puppy Gravy once you have fed your puppy. The best way to do this is to put it in an air tight container. If you have more than four days worth of gravy, you will want to freeze the rest to keep it fresh. Just like the food we eat, homemade dog food should not be fed your dog after four days in the refrigerator.

If you plan to freeze your gravy, then you will want to make sure that you use freezer storage containers. It is best to use a container that you can fill to a half an inch from the top. That way the risk of freezer burn in less, but when the gravy freezes it has room to expand. You will be able to store your dog gravy for up to six months in the freezer.
