Adding Crunch to Your Dog’s Diet
with Crunchy Kibble Biscuits

Crunchy Kibble Biscuits are a great way to not only feed your dog a great homemade dog food, but they can also be made into treats as well. Dogs need a particular percentage of protein in their diet each day. This protein is much easier for your dog to digest if it is fresh verses processed from store bought food.

One of the great benefits of this dog food recipe is that it is a dry food that promotes healthy teeth. Dogs need to have a crunchy diet to help remove extra tarter from their teeth.

This dog food can be served as a kibble mixed with a soft meal or alone, or it can be made into dog cookies for those who have dogs that prefer soft food for meals and crunch for snacks.

Ingredients:

When you are making Crunchy Kibble Biscuits you will need the following ingredients:

• One egg
• Two cups of whole wheat flour
• One cup of cornmeal
• one tablespoon of salt
• one cup of water
• one third cup of safflower or vegetable oil

Method:

You can add more to the recipe to make larger batches if you prefer to be able to freeze some in order to go longer between cooking. To make your Crunchy Kibble Biscuits you will need a cookie baking sheet and a large bowl.

Make sure to grease your cookie baking sheet with a non-stick cooking spray. This will make it much easier to remove your dog food or cookies after they are done cooking. One you have the tools for baking, you will do the following to make your dog food.

1. Preheat oven to 180C (350F) or Gas Mark 4

2. Add whole wheat flower, salt, and cornmeal to large bowl

3. Add the oil, egg, and water into the dry mix

4. Stir together thoroughly until a soft dough is made

5. Make sure the dough is not too sticky and add more flour if needed

6. Roll a teaspoon of dough into a ball

7. Place onto greased cookie baking sheet

8. Flatten ball

9. Repeat until dough is gone or sheet is full

10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or browned

11. Cool completely

12. Serve or store
