The Canine Delight of Kanine Kasserole

Kanine Kasserole is a homemade doggy delight that is filled with meat and flavor. It will have any dog begging for more. Making your own dog food at home is not only easy; it saves money and allows you to know exactly what your puppy is eating. This will mean that you can control food allergies, upset tummies, and make sure your dog is getting the proper nutrition that he or she needs.

When it comes time to make your own dog food at home, you will want to be sure that the ingredients you buy are the best for your dog. This means buying fresh or frozen foods, and food low in fat and sodium.

Ingredients:

To make Kanine Kasserole at home you will need the following ingredients:

• One cup of each meat - steak, kidney, chicken, and lamb
• One can of low sodium and fat free vegetable soup
• Six cups of cooked brown rice
• 2/3 cup of pearl barley
• One teaspoon of crushed or grated ginger
• One teaspoon of soy sauce
• One small can of tomato paste

Method:

When you are cooking your Kanine Kasserole, you will want to be sure to not add in any extra spices. While you may thing that you are adding to the flavor, you could be giving your dog something he or she is allergic to or something that might be toxic. Before you alter any recipe, make sure that you consult a dog safe food list or call your vet. One of the benefits to this doggy dish is that you can make it in the microwave or the stove top. If you want to make this dish using your microwave, you will want to have a large microwave dish. You will need to cook the rice separately no matter which way you do the recipe. To make the doggy dinner in your microwave follow these directions:

1. Place meat, pearl barley, ginger, soy sauce, and tomato paste into a microwave dish and cover.

2. Cook on high for 5 minutes

3. Stir the meat and repeat until the meat is starting to cook

4. Add soup and cooked rice

5. Cook on high for 3 minutes

6. Stir thoroughly

7. Allow to cool and serve or store

When you are making Kanine Kasserole on the stove top you will need a frying pan and a sauce pot. The directions are as follows:

1. Place meat, pearl barley, soy, and ginger into the frying pan

2. Start cooking rice in sauce pot

3. Once rice is done cooking, start heating the frying pan

4. Once meat is mostly cooked, add rice and soup

5. Cook until the meat is done

6. Allow the mix to cool and stir well

7. Serve or store

When storing your Kanine Kasserole food, you will want to only store enough in the refrigerator for four days. The rest needs to be frozen to keep fresh. Make sure to use the right containers or bags when freezing to prevent freezer burn.
