Liver Lover Cookies are a great homemade treat for your dog. If your dog is a liver lover, then he or she will
fall head over heels for Liver Lover Cookies. This is an easy and inexpensive recipe to make, yet will satisfy your
dog like never before. Dogs love liver and making your own cookies allows you to know exactly what you are feeding
your dog.
You will not have to worry about if you are feeding your dog too
many types of filler, preservatives, or other ingredients that he or she should not be eating. They also contain
the right amount of protein and fiber for a healthy dog and digestive system.
Ingredients:
To make your Liver Lover Cookies for your dog, you will need to have the following ingredients:
• One pound of beef liver
• One cup of corn meal
• One cup of flour
• One third cup of sugar
• Two teaspoons baking powder
• Half teaspoon of salt
Method:
You can use corn muffin mix instead of the corn meal, flour,
sugar, and baking powder. The choice will depend on what is best for you. When you are making Liver Lover Cookies, you will
want to have either a food processor or blender and a bowl.
You will also need a cooking or baking sheet and some non-stick
cooking spray. Cookie cutters are optional, as you can also cut the dough into the shapes you desire.
Follow the directions below to make the best cookies for your
doggy.
Beware that these may smell terrible to make until they are
cooked.
1. Preheat oven to 180C (350F) or Gas Mark 4
2. Add beef liver to blender or processor
3. Liquefy the liver
4. Add dry mix into a bowl
5. Add liquefied liver to the dry mix
6. Knead into a dough
7. Sprinkle flour onto firm surface
8. Roll dough out until it is about a ½ inch thick
9. Use cookie cutters or cut into shapes
10. Put cookies onto baking sheet
11. Cook for 18-20 minutes
12. Allow to cool
13. Place in air tight container
14. Refrigerate until hard
The Liver Lover
Cookies need to be refrigerated and used within two weeks or
frozen if you want to keep them longer.
If you want to use this recipe to make a dog food, simply add
approximately 16 ounces of frozen or fresh vegetables. You will just have to puree them and knead them into the
dough. This will give your dog the fiber and carbohydrate content he or she needs to remain healthy.
