A Meaty Mix Dog Food Recipe for your dog

Meaty Mix dog food is one of the easiest homemade natural dog food recipes that one can make. Most often you will find that you already have all the ingredients right in your home and kitchen already. This makes this dish a five star winner when it comes to not only taste, but also convenience.

Always remember to adjust the recipe for your dog’s needs and size. If you have a large you will want to make more food so that you can have enough servings to last at least four days. For smaller pups, simply cut the recipe down or prepare to store some in the freezer.

Ingredients:

You will need the following ingredients in your Meaty Mix dog food:

• 6 ounces of broth (beef, chicken, or vegetable)
• 8 ounces of meat scraps (chicken, turkey, liver, lamb, or beef)
• 1 package of frozen vegetables (no onions)
• 1 cup of whole wheat flour
• 1 (8 ounce) can of dog food

Method:

When you are preparing to cook your Meaty Mix you will need a greased pan to add your ingredients into. It is best to use a non-stick cooking spray than anything containing lard or fat. Once you have the ingredients read you are ready to follow the cooking directions.

1. Preheat oven to 150 degrees

2. Spray oven pan with cooking spray

3. Layer the bottom with approximately 4 ounces of meat

4. Sprinkle ½ cup of whole wheat flour over meat

5. Add vegetables over mix

6. Layer with another 4 ounces of meat

7. Sprinkle the remaining whole wheat flour over meat

8. Add more vegetables over mix

9. Cover with 8 ounce can of dog food

10. Pour broth over entire mixture

11. Bake for 45 minutes

12. Allow to cool and serve warm.

To properly store your left over Meaty Mix you will need to determine whether you will have more than four days worth of food. How to determine this will depend on your dog’s size and whether you will add this to his kibble or serve alone.

Freezing your dog’s food is easy and simply requires freezer friendly bags or containers. The Meaty Mix natural dog food can be kept frozen for up to six months if it sealed properly.

If you only have enough food to refrigerate for four or less days, than you can simply store each serving in an air tight container or storage bag. When you are serving the Meaty Mix dog food, simply warm the mix in the microwave or stove top. Either add to kibble or serve alone warm.
