Milky Mutts Biscuits are a Great Puppy Snack

Milky Mutts Biscuits are the best dog cookies that one can give their favorite furry friend. Making your own dog cookies allows you to choose the quality of nutrients that go into your dog’s diet. You will have control over the ingredients and can choose to not give your dog anything that you would not eat yourself. These are easy to make and will save you money from having to buy treats all the time at the store.

Ingredients:

When you are ready to make your Milky Mutts Biscuits you will want to be sure to have the following ingredients. To make more or less, simply adjust the recipe as needed.

• Three fourths cup of hot water
• One third cup of butter or margarine
• One egg
• One half cup of powdered milk
• One fourth teaspoon of salt
• Three cups of flour

Method:

When you are making the Milky Mutts Biscuits, you will need a few things to get your started. A large bowl to mix all the ingredients into, a rolling pin to roll out the dough, a baking sheet, or two to cook your cookies, and some non-stick cooking spray. The cooking spray will keep the treats from sticking to the baking sheet. Make sure to follow the instructions below:

1. Preheat oven to 160C (325F) or Gas Mark 3

2. Place butter or margarine in large mixing bowl

3. Add hot water to butter or margarine

4. Add flour to mix at ½ cup at a time

5. Knead dough until stiff

6. Sprinkle flour on counter surface

7. Roll out dough to ½ inch thickness

8. Cut dough into shapes

9. Bake for 50 minutes

10. Turn oven off and allow to cool in oven

11. Store for several days at room temperature to harden

One of the benefits to making Milky Mutt Biscuits is that you can store these in your cupboard or pantry. They do not need to be refrigerated like most homemade dog food or treats. You can even break these up to use as kibble.

Instead of making the dough into shapes, simply make into tiny balls and cook until crunchy. This is a great way to make your dog homemade kibble. If you do decide to do that, be sure to add a soft food to go with it for the right amount of protein and fiber.
