The Raw Meat Mix
The Raw Meat Mix recipe
Sometimes you will encounter a dog food recipe that seems like it was originally intended for
humans, when it comes to the raw meat mix this could very well be one of them.
This is a recipe that ideally should take no more than about 10 minutes to make, and when you
are finished it should have cost you no more than about $7 dollars give or take. These types of recipes are
excellent in that they offer exactly what the dog needs, without all of the filler that the dog would get from the
store bought foods.
Make sure that you include the correct vitamins and minerals in the meals. Always check with
your vet to make sure that your dog is going to be fed correctly.
The ingredients in this recipe are as follows:
• 2 cups vegetables that are pureed or ground
• ½ cup apple cider vinegar
• 3 whole eggs( shells included)
• 1 tablespoon ground kelp
• 2-4 Oz organ meat that can include gizzards, liver, or heart
• ½ cup yogurt
• 2-3 cloves garlic (optional)
• 1 lb ground beef
• A fistful parsley
This raw meat mix is something that you can actually leave either
in your fridge, or it is something that you can freeze for later use. Many people feel that the dog will use this
as a 40-60% daily diet of raw meat, yet this is something that really should be offered sparingly. This is more
like a supplement and an addition to the kibble that you serve, rather than something that you would feed the dog
solely. When the dog has this mix, they are surely going to appreciate it yet you do not want them to come to
expect it as a daily meal.
How Its Put Together
The raw meat mix is something that you will find to be too much for
your dog to enjoy on its own, so it is best that once this is made it is used with another food as a side or in
combination. All of these ingredients are basically thrown together in a large bowl, and mixed until they are all
well blended.
Once you have made sure that everything is blended well, you will take portions that will be
considered meals and they can be frozen for use later on. If you have elected to use this mix at least twice per
week, you will want to keep some in the fridge, so you do not need to worry about thawing it out prior. If you
frequent a butcher, then a mix such as this one is actually a very practical and sensible way to feed your dog.
Benefits
You will quickly notice that with the raw meat mix, there will be some definite
health benefits. Your dog will be able to pass more stable and smaller stools that will not be as messy; this will
benefit both the dog and yourself when it comes time to clean it up.
The dog will also benefit from the chewing of the raw meat and the bone in the mix, as it will
strengthen their jaw muscles and neck muscles. All the way around this mix when used in moderation, is an excellent
option when time to feed your dog.
