Turkey Rosemary Dog Food Recipe

Turkey Rosemary Dog Food is a great alternative to overly processed foods that are full of nasty fillers. Dogs like to eat healthy, fresh food just as much as their owners do.

Making food for your dog is very rewarding for many reasons. The biggest one will be the longer term health for your puppy, as well as the love you will see in your dog's eye at every meal time.

Fresh dog food can be made with any ingredients, with frozen and fresh foods being the best option. These have less salt than canned foods. You will also want to use lean fresh meats verses fatty, processed meat or meat by-products.

Ingredients:

You will want to use the following ingredients when preparing Turkey Rosemary Dog Food meal for your beloved dog friend:

• One pound of ground turkey
• Two cups of brown rice
• 8 ounces of either fresh or frozen broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower
• One teaspoon of dried rosemary
• Six cups of water

Method:

When you are getting ready to prepare and cook your Turkey Rosemary Dog Food you will want to be sure that you have a Dutch oven or large pan. One of best things about making this food is that you only need one pot, verses having to use multiple pans, which makes a lot of dishes to clean. There is no precooking any of the ingredients of your Turkey Rosemary Dog Food. Follow the directions below for cooking your dog food recipe:

1. Add water to the Dutch oven or large pot

2. Turn on high heat

3. Add rice and rosemary into water and stir

4. Break up ground turkey into small pieces

5. Add turkey to water

6. Stir until evenly distributed and broken up

7. Bring to a boil

8. Reduce heat to low

9. Simmer for 20 minutes

10. Add frozen veggies

11. Cook an additional 5 minutes

12. If using fresh veggies, add then when you begin simmering

13. Remove from heat and cool

When you are all done cooling your Turkey Rosemary Dog Food, you will then either be ready to serve it or store it. Food can be stored for up to four day in the refrigerator and six months in the freezer. You will want to use the appropriate containers depending on where you will be storing your dog food.

Frozen food can be thawed in the fridge over night when needed. The serving size you will feed your dog will depend on the dog’s size, as well as whether it will be served alone over dry dog food. If you plan to serve Turkey Rosemary Dog Food on its own, you will need to have more food per serving size than if you are going to use it with another type of dog food.
